155.21 PAYMENT OF DIRECT DEPOSIT.
   (a)   Compensation to any employee who is paid by warrant of the City Auditor shall be paid by direct deposit. Each employee shall provide to the City Auditor a written authorization for payment by direct deposit. The authorization shall include the designation of a financial institution equipped to accept direct deposits and the number of the account into which the deposit is to be made. The authorization shall remain in effect until withdrawn in writing by the employee or until dishonored by the financial institution. The Auditor shall adopt appropriate procedures to be used for the direct deposit into a financial institution of the compensation of an employee who is unable to participate in direct deposit.
   (b)   This section shall not apply to any employee who was hired prior to January 1, 2008.

   (c)   All employees who are compensated by warrant of the City Auditor shall be paid by direct deposit, including any employee who was hired prior to January 1, 2008.
