155.03 HOLIDAYS.
   EDITOR'S NOTE: The provisions of this section may be altered by applicable collective bargaining agreements. Please refer to the aforementioned agreements in regards to employment policy and procedures when necessary.
   (a)   All full-time employees of the City, whether classified or unclassified and whether employed on an annual salary basis or on an hourly basis, shall be entitled to the following paid holidays each year:
      (1)   New Year's Day (January 1)
      (2)   Martin Luther King Day (third Monday in January)
      (3)   Presidents' Day (third Monday in February)
      (4)   Memorial Day (May 30)
      (5)   Independence Day (July 4)
      (6)   Labor Day (first Monday in September)
      (7)   Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
      (8)   Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
      (9)   Day after Thanksgiving (fourth Friday in November) for all nonuniform City employees
      (10)   Christmas (December 25)
         (Adopting Ordinance)
   (b)   For the purpose of this chapter, a paid holiday means an eight-hour working day for all employees except members of the Fire Department. For such members it means a twenty- four hour working day.
   (c)   Any employee of the City required to work on any holiday set forth herein shall be entitled, in lieu of such holiday, to one day off as defined in subsection (b) hereof.
