The Fire Chief shall recommend to the Mayor the following officers for appointment: An assistant Fire Chief, a Secretary-Treasurer, a Captain, two Lieutenants and a Maintenance and Records Officer. The duties of such officers shall be as prescribed by the Fire Chief, subject, however, to such rules and regulations as may from time to time be prescribed by the Mayor and Council. The Mayor shall appoint the Fire Chief with the advice and consent of Council. The Fire Chief may at times recommend to the Mayor the appointment of other officers he or she deems necessary to carry out the duties of the Fire Department.
