§ 51.101 TESTING METER ACCURACY.
Any town water customer may have the accuracy of his or her meter examined and tested by the Department upon written request and receipt by the town of the established fee for such work. The Department will examine and test the meter, and, if found to be inaccurate in excess of 2% of water passing through it, the town will remove and replace the meter at the town’s expense. If the meter is found to be inaccurate in excess of 2% of water passing through it, the billing for the current period will be adjusted in the manner deemed appropriate by the Finance Director, and the testing fee shall be refunded to the customer. If the meter is found to be accurate, the town shall retain the testing fee.
