Under the provisions of this chapter the lawfully constituted legislative and executive authorities of cities and towns shall have such power and authority over the establishing of municipal voting precincts and wards, municipal boards of judges and clerks of the election and other officers of their municipal election and other matters pertaining to the municipal general election required for such cities and towns by law.
