17.28.010   Lot measurement.
   A.   Front Yards. Depth of a required front yard is measured at right angles to a straight line.joining the foremost points of the side lot lines. The foremost point of the side lot line, in the case of rounded property corners at street intersections, will be assumed to be the point at which the side and front lot lines will be parallel.
   B.   Side Yards. Width of a required side yard is measured in such a manner that the yard established is a strip of the minimum width required by district regulations with its inner edge parallel with the side lot line.
   C.   Rear Yards. Depth of a required rear yard is measured in such a manner that the yard established is a strip of the minimum width required by district regulations with its inner edge parallel with the side lot line.

17.28.020   Restrictions.
   A.   No barns, chicken coops, shelters, cages, corrals, pastures or other structures for the confinement of hooved animals or domesticated or wild fowl, or such animals or fowl, themselves, shall be allowed within the Class A residential district, Class B residential district and business district of the city with the exception of existing veterinary hospitals and clinics set forth elsewhere in this title.
   B.   Within the abovementioned districts there may presently exist barns, chicken coops, shelters, cages, corrals, pastures, or other structures for the confinement of hooved animals and domesticated or wild fowl which were lawful before the ordinance codified in this title was enacted, but which would be prohibited under the provisions of this title.
   It is the intent of this title to provide for the eventual attrition of these nonconforming uses and structures as follows:
      1.   An inventory of all hooved animals and domesticated and wild fowl presently residing within the city will be taken.
      2.   No hooved animals or domesticated or wild fowl not presently residing within the city at the time of enactment of the ordinance codified in this title may be brought into the city.
      3.   Any hooved animals or domesticated or wild fowl which die within the city shall be immediately removed and not replaced.
      4.   Any hooved animals or domesticated or wild fowl born to animals or fowl legally allowed under the above provisions within the city shall be removed within seventytwo hours of birth or hatching.
      5.   Any hooved animals or domesticated or wild fowl which are removed from the city for a period of more than seventytwo hours shall not be allowed to be brought back into the city.
