§ 51.06 RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING REQUIRED.
   (A)   Recycling required. As of September 1, 2010, all residents living in single-family structures, multifamily structures and mixed-use buildings shall separate aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard for recycling; and no aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard shall be deposited in a garbage can or container after that date.
   (B)   Curbside pickup. As of September 1, 2010, the village will begin a curbside recycle pickup program for which service all residential households will be billed a monthly fee.
   (C)   Enforcement.
      (1)   As of September 1, 2010, the village shall continue a program of educational outreach regarding these new recycling requirements.
      (2)   As of September 1, 2010, residential customers that self-haul their garbage shall be prohibited from disposing of garbage with significant amounts of aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper or cardboard without properly recycling such items at an authorized recovered material recycler or at a convenience center.
      (3)   As of January 1, 2011, any violation of this section by residential curbside or other residential customers may result in refusal of curbside waste collection services. Residential customers shall be required to remove these items from garbage containers before they will be collected. Any violation of this section by residential customers may result in an additional collection charge per container collected.
