(A) Meaning. Except as specifically defined herein, all words used in this chapter have their customary dictionary definitions. For the purpose of this chapter, certain words or terms used herein are defined as follows.
(B) Word interpretation. Words used in the present tense include the future tense. Words used in the singular include the plural, and words used in the plural include the singular.
(1) BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT. The Chimney Rock Village Board of Adjustment, and shall include both regular and alternate members.
(2) BUILDING. The word STRUCTURE.
(3) LOT. The words PLOT or PARCEL.
(4) MAY. Is permissive.
(5) ORDINANCE. The Zoning Ordinance of Chimney Rock Village.
(6) PERSON or APPLICANT. A firm, association, organization, partnership, corporation, company, trust, an individual or governmental unit.
(7) PLANNING BOARD. The Chimney Rock Village Planning Board.
(8) SHALL. Is mandatory.
(9) STREET. The words ROAD and HIGHWAY.
(10) USED or OCCUPIED. The words INTENDED, ARRANGED or DESIGNED TO BE USED or OCCUPIED.
(11) VILLAGE COUNCIL. The Chimney Rock Village Council.
(12) ZONING MAP or CHIMNEY ROCK VILLAGE ZONING MAP. The Official Zoning Map of Chimney Rock Village.
