The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the village, and as such, shall perform the following duties:
(A) Keep himself or herself informed as to the village's business;
(B) Preside over the meeting of the Village Council;
(C) Sign all contracts, ordinances, resolutions, franchises and all other documents as authorized by the Council;
(D) Appoint all committees and outline their duties, under the general direction and with the consent of the Council;
(E) Make recommendations to the Council concerning the affairs of the village, as deemed necessary or required by municipal statutes;
(F) Represent the village at ceremonies and other official occasions;
(G) Perform other duties as authorized by the General Statutes of North Carolina, the Village Charter and this Code of Ordinances; and
(H) Shall serve as Village Budget Officer, and perform all the duties as such, unless this title and duties are delegated by the Mayor, with the consent of Council or by the Council.
