The purpose of this chapter is to support and guide the proper subdivision of land within the defined jurisdiction of Chimney Rock Village, as identified in § 154.003, in order to promote the public health, safety and general welfare of the village. This chapter is designed to provide for the orderly development of Chimney Rock Village; for the coordination of streets and highways with other public facilities; for the dedication or reservation of rights-of-way or easements for streets and utility purposes; and for the distribution of population and traffic, which shall avoid congestion and overcrowding, and which will create conditions essential to public health, safety and the general welfare. This chapter is designed to further facilitate adequate provision for water, sewerage, parks, schools and playgrounds, and also to facilitate the further re-subdivision of larger tracts into smaller parcels of land.
