Any minor past the age of 16 years who has a working certificate and whose work may require him or her to be out at hours later than those specified in this section may make application to the chief of police for written permission. The chief of police may grant permission, but the minor shall not be out later than 1/2 hour beyond the time that the work of the minor shall end.
