Pursuant to § 17(d) and (rr) of the Municipal Charter for the town, there is hereby established a Recreation Commission. This Commission shall consist of seven persons serving without pay, who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by at least two Council members. The Chairperson of this Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by at least two Council members. The term of office of the Chairperson and members shall be for four years or until their successors are appointed and qualified, except that the members of the Commission first appointed shall be appointed for terms so that the term of no more than two members shall expire annually thereafter. Vacancies in the Commission occurring for whatever reasons shall be filled by the Mayor within 45 days and confirmed by at least two Council members.
