Violations of these regulations or failure to comply with the requirements of these regulations or any conditions attached to a permit or variance shall constitute a misdemeanor. Any person responsible for a violation shall comply with the notice of violation or stop work order. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in a court of competent jurisdiction, is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding six months, or both, for each violation, with costs imposed at the discretion of the court. Each day a violation continues shall be considered a separate offense. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the Zoning Board of Appeals from taking such other lawful action as is necessary to prevent or remedy any violation.
