Failure to do so shall constitute a violation of this article. Upon the deposit of the appropriate coin or coins as indicated on the meter and placing the meter in operation, the parking space may be lawfully occupied by the vehicle during the period of parking time which has been prescribed for the particular amount deposited. The parking meter shall have inscribed on the face what coin or combination of coins is required and the amount of parking time permitted for each respective coin.
