A. It shall be unlawful for vehicles to employ engine braking systems within the city of Chenoa. Signs meeting the specifications of the state of Illinois department of transportation standards shall be posted in the following locations, and the prohibition shall be in effect between the signs on the respective routes:
East of Chenoa on Route 24 between "Speed Zone Ahead" and "Speed Limit 45" signs.
North of Route 24 on Old Route 55 between "Speed Zone Ahead" and "Speed Limit 45" signs.
South of Route 24 on Old Route 55 between "Speed Zone Ahead" and "Speed Limit 45" signs.
West of Chenoa on Route 24 between "Speed Zone Ahead" and "Speed Limit 45" signs.
B. Violation of this section shall subject the violator to a fine pursuant to the general penalty ordinance of the city of Chenoa, with the exception that it shall not be less than seventy five dollars ($75.00) for a first violation. (Ord. 479, 6-28-2004)
