§ 152.26  SIGNS REQUIRING ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS REVIEW.
   The following on-premises signs may be erected, altered, or relocated subject to review by the city Zoning Board of Appeals in accordance with the requirements of § 152.41 of this chapter.
   (A)   On-premises freestanding (tripod, portable and sandwich) signs identifying a business or service are only permitted where the building has a front yard setback of at least ten feet and shall be limited to one such sign per lot in the front yard area of the lot. Placement and setback of such signs shall be determined by the Zoning Board of Appeals according to standards in § 152.41 of this chapter.
   (B)   Freestanding signs identifying a multi-family residential complex or a home occupation in any district shall be restricted to a maximum area of nine square feet and a maximum height of six feet.
   (C)   In the case of home occupations in a residential district, the lot in use shall be limited to either one projecting name-plate as provided in § 152.30 or to one nonilluminated freestanding sign as restricted in this section.
   (D)   The Zoning Board of Appeals may waive restrictions regarding size, height, and other such limitations for permitted freestanding signs identifying five or more business or service establishments in a shopping center or complex. Whenever granting such waivers the Zoning Board of Appeals shall establish size, height, location and other restrictions based upon the standards in § 152.41 of this chapter.
   (E)   Joint identification (ID) signs restricted to a maximum area of 150 square feet and a minimum area of 50 square feet based on .5 square feet allowable for each front foot of property.
   (F)   The area and height of all other freestanding signs identifying a business or service are restricted according to the following schedule:
