Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500 and the cost of prosecution or, in default of the payment thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed 90 days for each offense, or both. A separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during or when a violation occurs or continues.
