§ 32.42 APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS.
   Within 30 days after this chapter becomes effective as set forth in § 32.40, the Village President, with the consent of the Board of Trustees, shall appoint the members of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to serve for a term of three years and until their respective successors are appointed and have qualified. Of the first members appointed one shall serve until the end of the then current municipal year, one until the end of the next ensuing municipal year and one until the end of the second ensuing municipal year, as designated by the Village President with the consent of the Board of Trustees at the time of appointment. The members of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall be considered officers of the municipality, and shall file an oath and a fidelity bond in such amount as may be required by ordinance. Such Commissioners shall possess the qualifications required by 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-3, shall be subject to removal as set out in that section, and shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in the discharge of their duties.
