The village may institute and prosecute in its name any suits or other actions necessary or appropriate for the collection of any penalties or charges imposed by this chapter or other ordinances; or for legal or equitable relief to prevent the continuance of violations of provisions of this chapter or other ordinances pertaining to the service of utilities; and for attorney’s fees therefor to the extent that the remedies provided herein are not exclusive.
