(A) If a check tendered to the village for payment of any village services is returned by the bank for any reason other than error on the part of the financial institution, a service charge will be imposed. The service charge, which is adjusted periodically, is currently $25. The amount of the dishonored check plus the $25 service charge will be added back to a customer's account immediately. The customer will be required to reimburse the village in cash or cash equivalent within seven working days.
(B) If a second check is tendered within 12 months to the village in payment of any village services is returned by the bank for any reason other than error on the part of the financial institution, that customer will be required to pay all utility charges in cash or cash equivalent.
