§ 153.30 SIGHT DISTANCES, CURVES AND GRADES.
The criteria herein are general in nature and intended for minimum standards for subdivision roadways only. It is presumed that high-speed traffic expressways, throughways and major thoroughfares when traversing subdivisions will have been designed as a part of the major thoroughfare system and are not to be identified with subdivision roadway design.
   (A)   Minimum sight distances computed in accordance with highway standards, shall be as follows:

Speed Limit Designation
Sight Distances Minimum
55 mph
450 feet
45 mph
350 feet
35 mph
250 feet
25 mph
125 feet

   (B)   Minimum radius of curvature as measured along the centerline of the roadway shall be:

Speed Limit Designation
Sight Distance Minimum
55 mph
450 feet
45 mph
350 feet
35 mph
250 feet
25 mph
125 feet

   (C)   There shall be a tangent of at least 100 feet between reversed curves or between sections of a compound curve.
   (D)   Roadway curbs at intersections shall be rounded to a radius of not less than 25 feet. This radius shall be increased in special cases, at the discretion of the Commission, with, or without, the advice of the Engineer.
   (E)   No roadway or alley shall have a grade less than 0.4% nor greater than 7%, except where topography and the character of the roadway or alley make it impractical to comply with this specification. The Commission may approve flat grades or grades of up to 12% for relatively short distances at its discretion and with the recommendation of the City Engineer.
