   A.   Fine For Violation: The owner or operator of any vehicle which is parked in violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine of fifteen dollars ($15.00) if paid within forty eight (48) hours after said violation has been written, or in the event that said violation is not paid within forty eight (48) hours of said violation notification, said fine shall be in the amount of twenty dollars ($20.00).

   B.   Payment: The foregoing violation ticket may be paid at the police department or same deposited in the collection boxes.

   C.   Unpaid Violation Tickets: If said violation ticket is not paid within ten (10) days of receipt of same, the fine per violation shall be as prescribed in section 1-4-1 of this code.

   D.   Towing Of Vehicles: In all cases of violation of this section, the police department and the city reserve the right to have vehicles towed, towing being without waiver of any remaining penalties for violation of this section. (Ord. 08-O-9, 4-1-2008)

   E.   Eastern Illinois University Major Events:

      1.   Parking Restrictions: In order to prevent the blocking of the roadway during major events held at Eastern Illinois University, said "major events" being defined as commencement ceremonies, home football games, state high school track meets, and Special Olympics celebrations; no parking will be permitted on any part of Orchard Drive from Grant Avenue to Johnson Avenue; Chamberlin Drive (from C Street to University Drive); and C Street (from West Grant Avenue north to dead end of street); from two (2) hours prior to and two (2) hours following the scheduled times of said events.

      2.   Violations: The owner or operator of any vehicle parked in violation of this subsection may be issued a nonmoving violation ticket and, in addition thereto or in lieu thereof, any vehicle wrongfully parked may be towed at the owner's/operator's expense. (Ord. 13-O-10, 6-4-2013)
