Within the limits of the city the following are designated as main thoroughfares and all vehicles approaching the highways shall come to a full stop before entering upon or crossing same except as otherwise directed by traffic control lights or by a police officer:

Main Street (S.R. 44 & U.S. Rt. 6)
North Hambden Street (U.S. Rt. 6)
South Street (S.R. 44)
Water Street (U.S. Rt. 6)
