1501.02 BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION ESTABLISHED; DUTIES; CODE ENFORCEMENT.
   (a)   The Fire Prevention Code adopted by § 1501.01 shall be enforced by the Bureau of Fire Prevention of the Municipality, which is hereby established and shall be operated under the supervision of the Fire Prevention Officer.

   (b)   The Fire Prevention Officer in charge of the Bureau shall be a Certified Fire Safety Inspector, as required by R.C. § 3737.34, and as thereafter amended. The Fire Prevention Officer shall be appointed by the Chardon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., which is hereby designated as the appointing authority, and the appointee shall be designated in the contract for fire prevention services between the City and the Chardon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
 
   (c)   The Chardon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is hereby designated as the authority to appoint one or more Certified Fire Safety Inspectors. Appointees shall be employees of the Chardon Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. No Fire Safety Inspector shall be appointed who does not meet the certification requirements of R.C. § 3737.34 and as thereafter amended.

   (d)   A report of the Bureau shall be made annually and transmitted no later than November 30th of each year to Council. The report shall contain all proceedings under these Codes, with such statistics as the Fire Prevention Officer may wish to include therein. The Fire Prevention Officer shall also recommend any amendments to the Codes which, in his judgment, shall be desirable.
