945.01 DESIGNATION OF LAND FOR USE AS RECREATION AREAS AND PARKS.
   (a)   The land areas more particularly described in the deed from the Board of Education of the Chardon Local School District, Grantor, to the Municipality of Chardon, Grantee, filed for record on June 8, 1999 in Volume 1240, page 355 et seq. and Volume 1240, page 359 et seq. Geauga County Official Records, is hereby designated and set apart for use as a recreational area, including the pool, chalet and sled hill; and use as playgrounds and playfields and for all other recreational uses not inconsistent therewith for the beneficial use and enjoyment by the residents of the Municipality and of the Chardon Local School District, especially and to the extent practical, of resident children of fifteen years of age and younger.
   (b)   The land area now known as Mel Harder Park on South Hambden Street and more particularly described in the deed filed for record on April 13, 1979 from James and Nancy Winters to the Village of Chardon, Ohio in Volume 637, Page 667, Geauga County Official Records, a parcel of approximately 12 acres, is hereby designated and set apart for use as a recreational area, for use as playgrounds and ballfields, all other recreational uses not inconsistent therewith, and the beneficial use and enjoyment by the residents of the Municipality.
   (c)   The land area known as the Public Square of the Village of Chardon as established in the Chardon Town Plat recorded in Vol. 1, page 215, Geauga County Record of Deeds on January 13, 1814.
   (d)   The lands referred to above, and real property which may be added for recreational use in the future, may be referred to in this Chapter collectively or individually as “recreational area”, “recreation area” or “park”.
