(a) Water meters and remote meter reading devices shall be provided by the Municipality at the cost of the owner or user as set forth in Chapter 921
(Water Service Charges). Every water meter and remote meter reading device shall be installed in accordance with this chapter and municipal regulations and specifications.

(c) Water meters shall be installed by the Municipality unless otherwise permitted by the Authority having jurisdiction. Said meters shall generally be located inside a building or structure; at the lowest possible floor level; protected from freezing; and in a readily accessible position for ease of reading and service. Whenever possible water meters shall be adjacent to an exterior wall. The location of a water meter shall be subject to the approval of the Authority having jurisdiction, or designee. Water meters shall be mounted not less than six (6) inches nor more than fifty-six (56) inches above the finished floor; shall be horizontally level and plumb; shall be installed in the service line before any branch, tee, wye or other type of connection (except as provided herein for fixed fire suppression systems serviced from the domestic water supply and secondary water line); and shall have shutoff valves immediately before and after the meter and prior to any branch, tee, wye or other type of connection.
(d) One secondary water line water meter shall be permitted for each building, dwelling or structure. Installation of the secondary water meter shall comply with all other requirements of this section.
(e) Manifold meters shall be installed within six (6) feet of the water line entry point into the building. Said meters shall be within twelve (12) inches of each other.
(f) Any violation of this section shall be corrected at the property owner’s expense. The Municipality shall cause the correction of such violation. When the corrective work is done by the Municipality a charge therefore shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 921
(Water Service Charges); such charge shall be payable as any other water charge.
