927.38 CURB SHUTOFF AND METER REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   One and two family dwellings. A separate curb shutoff and meter shall be required for each dwelling unit.
 
   (b)   Multifamily and Commercial Buildings. Service may be configured by any of the following methods:
      (1)   One curb shutoff and meter for the entire building.
      (2)   One curb shutoff and a manifold with one meter for each tenant unit and one meter for general building water uses.
      (3)   One curb shutoff and meter for each tenant unit.
 
   (c)   Industrial and Institutional buildings. Each service lateral for domestic and/or process water purposes shall have a separate curb shutoff and meter.
 
   (d)   Service laterals which serve only automatic fire protection sprinkler systems shall have a curb shutoff but shall not have a water meter.
 
   (e)   In addition to the requirements of divisions (a) through (d), each dwelling, building or structure may have one secondary water line. The secondary water line shall be installed inside the structure and connected to the primary water line between its point of entry to the structure and the primary water line water meter.
