921.172 RATES INSIDE MUNICIPALITY.
   (a)    The prices to be charged for water furnished to all consumers situated in the Municipality shall be as follows:

   (b)    The water rates in subsection (a) correspond to the billing/collections period for each calendar year.
   (c)    Water rates shall be billed monthly and charged to the property owner.

   (d)    (EDITOR’S NOTE: Former subsection (d) was repealed by Ordinance 3154, passed February 11, 2021.)
   (e)   Under the utility discount program, a ratepayer who is a senior citizen or is disabled and whose household income is less than or equal to $40,037 per year ("ratepayer") shall be given a reduction in the amount of each monthly residential water bill pursuant to the income guidelines and credits set forth below.
      (1)   If a ratepayer has annual household income of less than $20,019, the ratepayer shall be given a credit of 40% of the amount of each monthly water bill.
      (2)   If a ratepayer has annual household income of at least $20,019 but less than or equal to $26,691, the ratepayer shall be given a credit of 35% of the amount of each monthly water bill.
      (3)   If a ratepayer has annual household income of at least $26,691.01 but less than or equal to $33,364, the ratepayer shall be given a credit of 30% of the amount of each monthly water bill.
      (4)   If a ratepayer has annual household income of at least $33,364.01 but less than or equal to $40,037, the ratepayer shall be given a credit of 25% of the amount of each monthly water bill.

   (f)    A "disabled consumer" is an owner or renter of the residential premises which receives water service and who has been determined to be disabled by the Social Security Administration or a State of Ohio retirement system; permanently and totally disabled by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation; or who presents evidence of disability satisfactory to the Finance Director and Law Director.
   (g)    When necessary, the above rates shall be adjusted to correspond to the consumer's meter reading system. (Ord. 2735. Passed 9-13-12.)
