(a) Pedestrian ways may be required across any block or at the end of cul-de-sac streets for access to schools, playgrounds or bus stops, or to other public facilities where convenient pedestrian circulation has not been provided by street sidewalks.
(1) When such pedestrian way is adjacent to fee simple lots it shall be upon a dedicated right of way conforming to Section 905.33 unless otherwise required by the Municipal Approving Authority.
(2) When not adjacent to fee simple lots the center line of the pedestrian way shall be a minimum of 15 feet from any building unless otherwise approved by the Approving Authority.
(b) Walking trails in Planned Unit Developments may be considered for approval by Municipal Approving Authority. Said trails may be permitted only in Planned Unit Developments. When permitted, said trails shall be considered as a supplement, and not an alternate, to sidewalks required by these regulations. The construction standards and specification for walking trails shall be the same as for Municipal sidewalks unless otherwise approved by Council.
