§ 35.10 POWERS OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall have such powers as may be prescribed from time to time by law and by the Corporate Authorities.
   (B)   The powers shall include:
      (1)   To discipline and reprimand members of the Police Department;
      (2)   To suspend without pay any officer for a period of up to but not exceeding five working days;
      (3)   To file written allegations with the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners requesting the discharge or suspension of a police officer; and
      (4)   To make the initial appointment of officers as provided in § 35.15.
