Before entering upon the duties of a police officer, each police officer, including the Chief of Police, shall take and subscribe the following oath:
I, , do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and that I faithfully discharge the duties of police officer of the Village of Channahon according to the best of my ability.
Notary Public: The oath, so subscribed, shall be filed in the Office of the Village Clerk.
