§ 151.62 MINIMUM PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Follow the 2018 Illinois State Plumbing Code:
      The Village acknowledges and affirms that the Illinois plumbing license law, 225 Illinois Compiled Statutes 320/0.01 et seq., and the Illinois Plumbing Code adopted thereunder, 77 Illinois administrative code 890.110 et seq., govern all plumbing work performed within the Village. The Illinois Plumbing code is hereby adopted and incorporated as if fully set fourth herein.
   (B)   WaterSense Devices:
      Pursuant to 17 Illinois Administrative Code 3730.307(c)(4) and subject to the Illinois Plumbing Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 890) and the lawn irrigation contractor and lawn sprinkler system registration code (77 Ill. adm. Code 892), all new plumbing fixtures and irrigation controllers installed after April 4, 2016, being the effective date hereof, shall bear the WaterSense label (as designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency WaterSense program), when such labeled fixtures are available.
   (C)   Two-inch cleanout is acceptable under the kitchen sink or below the floor: in the basement or crawl space.
   (D)   Crawl spaces may drain towards the basement floor drain provided the depression in the foundation wall does not affect the structural integrity of the wall.
   (E)   Plastic and fiberglass laundry tubs shall be fastened to a wall and/or the floor in such a manner as to make them secure.
   (F)   All plumbing fixtures that are installed below grade shall be discharged into a gas-tight overhead sewer (ejector pit). Sewer Service line to be 6" diameter through foundation to main.
   (G)   All water supply and distribution lines shall be sized and installed per the State Plumbing Code section 890 Appendix A. minimum one-inch water service and air tested between 9/15 thru 5/15.
   (H)   Schedule 40 PVC pipe only with the identification label visible. No cellular core.
   (I)   The rough plumbing shall be fully tested and approved, in writing, prior to the installation of any insulation. Provide a minimum 50 pounds air or water test and must be seen by a plumbing inspector.
   (J)   All future plumbing fixtures shall have waste and vent installation completed for the rough inspection, with all waste openings capped or plugged gas tight.
   (K)   A floor drain shall be required in a basement discharging into an ejector pit and piped to the sanitary sewer or septic system.
   (L)   A boiler drain down fitting shall be installed on the house side of the water meter. Anti-siphon device is required on the boiler drain down (drain down valve shall be installed before the second shutoff valve).
   (M)   The water heater shall not be used to set water temperatures at plumbing fixtures.
   (N)   Anti-scald/Posi-temperature valves in all shower and tub/shower combinations must be set at 115 degrees Fahrenheit max. The water temperature at the water heater shall be a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
   (O)   All hand-held shower heads shall have a 1016 ANSI anti-siphon device or dual check valve.
   (P)   Access panels for whirlpool motor repairs shall be a minimum of 14 inches high by 20 inches wide or per manufacturer specifications. No removal of fixtures or cabinetry shall be allowed to access motor.
   (Q)   Stud guards are required on all water pipes and waste/vent pipes with less than 1-1/2 inch clearance from the face of the stud from either side.
   (R)   There shall be no plumbing rough inspections until the HVAC has been completed or at the discretion of the Building or Plumbing Inspector.
   (S)   All gas piping shall be sized, installed, and tested at a minimum of 50 pounds as per adopted codes, rules, and regulations herein.
   (T)   Air chambers are required to be installed on all fixtures.
   (U)   A safe pan is required, washing machines, furnaces with air conditioners, and others at the discretion of the plumbing inspector, used to receive sanitary wastes or other fluids. Pans shall be connected to a properly installed drainage system when installed over habitable or occupiable space.
   (V)   All commercial establishments and institutions with kitchens.
      (1)   The minimum size of floor sinks shall be 12 inches by 12 inches.
      (2)   Kitchens shall have floor sinks for all open site drains.
      (3)   Any medical professional examination room that may result in body contact is required to have a hand sink installed in compliance with the Illinois Plumbing Code.
      (4)   Tankless or on-demand water heaters shall be adequate in size to operate all fixtures requiring hot water running simultaneously at a constant temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit or above. The unit shall be installed with flushing valves. Provide cut sheets indicating size of heater and allowable fixture ratings.
      (5)   Provide grease traps per State Plumbing Code.
   (W)   All sewer and water contractors shall be licensed, bonded, and registered, and must have a state plumbing license.
   (X)   No pressure water lines shall be installed into exterior walls, attics or ceilings above attached garages.
   (Y)   Irrigation and other plumbing fixtures shall comply with the water conservation requirements set forth in § 52.067.
