§ 52.067 WATER USE LIMITED.
   (A)   Water from the village’s public water supply may only be used for watering or sprinkling of lawns as follows:
      (1)   All properties with even-numbered street numbers may use public water supply for lawn watering purposes on even-numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is prohibited at all other times.
      (2)   All properties with odd-numbered street numbers may use public water supply for lawn watering purposes on odd-numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is prohibited at all other times.
      (3)   The filling of swimming pools is not restricted by time of day, but must comply with the odd and even numbered day restrictions in divisions (A)(1) and (A)(2) above.
   (B)   The Village President may by proclamation further restrict or ban the drawing of water from the public water supply for public or private functions, yard sprinkling, and swimming pool filling, when such proclamation is necessary and in the best interest of the system. Upon issuance, the President shall forward such proclamation to such media as he deems is appropriate and such proclamation shall be posted at the Village of Channahon Municipal Building.
   (C)   The lawn watering restrictions set forth in division (A) above shall not apply in the following circumstances:
      (1)   Newly installed sod and seed may be watered during the first ten days after installation. Water from the village water distribution system may be used for watering of the newly installed sod or seed for up to eight hours per day. After the first ten days the odd/even day and hourly time restrictions in division (A) above will apply.
      (2)   The watering of gardens, trees, shrubs and flowers, by use of a handheld hose or watering can, is not restricted.
   (D)   All new and replacement lawn irrigation systems shall be equipped with a WaterSense label as designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and an irrigation controller. These systems shall also be in compliance with the Illinois Plumbing License Law.
   (E)   Plumbing fixtures and fittings installed shall bear the WaterSense label as designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
   (F)   All new and remodeled commercial car washes shall be equipped with a water recycling system.
   (G)   All new water services shall have both domestic and fire flows metered. Meter(s) will be provided by the village at the permittee's expense.
   (H)   In the event that the permittee demonstrates that the WaterSense products required in divisions (D) and (E) above are not reasonably available, the closest equivalent product available may be substituted with the consent of the village.
   (I)   That all new multi-family buildings shall be sub-metered for each unit.
   (J)   The village shall annually conduct a leak detection survey of its entire water systems and shall thereafter repair leaks as necessary.
