(A) The building permit fee for the construction, erection of, or addition to, a residential use building or structure shall be determined by multiplying the total square feet of usable area, using exterior dimensions (excluding unfinished basements, cellars and attached garages) by $0.80.
(B) The building permit fee for the construction, erection of, or addition to, a commercial or industrial building or structure shall be determined by multiplying the total square feet of usable area by:
(1) Fifty cents per square foot, for the first 5,000 square feet.
(2) Each additional square foot from 5,001 to 10,000 square feet by $0.35 per square foot.
(3) Each additional square foot from 10,001 to 20,000 square feet by $0.25 per square foot.
(4) Each additional square foot from 20,001 square feet and up by $0.15 per square foot.
(C) The building permit fee for the construction or erection of an accessory/ancillary structure in excess of 250 square feet in area shall be determined by multiplying the number of square feet by $0.80.
(D) The building permit fee for all other alterations to property or structures including, but not limited to: accessory/ancillary structures under 250 square feet in area, decks, gazebos, porches, soffit systems, dormers, fences, re-roofs and siding, the fee shall be based upon an estimated cost of the improvement, alteration or repair as follows:
(1) Construction value of $10,000 and under: $100.
(2) Construction value of $10,001 and over: $8 per $1,000.
(3) Decks attached to principal structure (minimum): $150.
(E) The term “estimated cost,” as used in this section, means the reasonable value of all services, labor, materials and use of scaffolding and other appliances or devices entering into and necessary to the prosecution and completion of the work ready for occupancy.
(F) If the owner and occupant of a single-family residential structure has attained the age of 65, the permit fee for re-roofs, siding, soffit systems and gutters shall be $10.
