§ 95.46 MOUNTING POSTS.
The objective of this section is to provide guidance to the homeowner as to what types of posts are desirable. Posts smaller or less substantial (decorative posts) are subject to damage as discussed in § 95.48. Posts more extensive than mentioned, such as masonry, steel beams, or poured concrete, are dangerous to snow removal equipment and other vehicles due to their excessive resistance to knockdown and are, therefore, prohibited within the public right-of-way. The following specifications are advisory; however, residents are encouraged to adhere to these guidelines in mounting roadside mailboxes. Mailboxes damaged by snow discharge, per § 95.48, that are not installed in conformance with these specifications will not be repaired by the village.
