10-4-6: MECHANICAL INSPECTOR; INSPECTION OF WORK:
   A.   Mechanical Inspector; Office Created, Powers And Duties:
      1.   There shall be a mechanical inspector who shall be the code official. The inspector shall have the powers and duties in accordance with sections 103 and 104 of the international mechanical code.
      2.   The mechanical inspector shall have the authority to make special rulings when the circumstances warrant, for the safeguarding of life or property. The mechanical contractor and the property owner will be notified in writing of special rulings.
      3.   It is the authority of the mechanical inspector to inspect all mechanical materials and equipment for which a permit has been issued.
      4.   The mechanical inspector shall have the right of entry as described in section 104.5 of the international mechanical code. Any person interfering with the mechanical inspector shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
   B.   Inspection Of Work:
      1.   It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or individual to conceal any work for which a permit is required, until it is known by that person that the work has been approved by the city. Inspections are required in accordance with section 107 of the international mechanical code.
      2.   It shall be the responsibility of the mechanical contractor to request all mechanical inspections. Such requests shall be made at least twenty four (24) hours prior to the desired inspection time. (Ord. 1997-10, 10-7-1997)
