1-4-1: GENERAL AND SPECIFIC PENALTIES:
   A.   Penalty Imposed: Except as otherwise provided by state law, whenever in this code or in any ordinance of the city an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in the code or ordinance the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any provision of this code or of any ordinance, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment not exceeding that which is then authorized by state statute to be imposed by municipal courts not of record; provided however, that no fine shall be imposed which is in excess of the maximum allowable fine for the same offense under state law. Each day or any portion of a day during which any violation of this code or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. (Ord. 2004-04, 10-5-2004)
   B.   Aiding Or Abetting Violation: Any person who shall aid, abet or assist in the violation of any provision of this code or any other ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in this section. (1985 Code § 1-108)
   C.   Animals Running At Large, Penalty: Any person, firm or corporation violating the terms of section 6-4-3 of this code shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to penalty as established by the city's fee schedule. (1985 Code § 1-108; amd. 2003 Code)
