7-2-12: DRIVER AND VEHICLE LICENSES:
   A.   Possession Of Valid License Required:
      1.   No person shall operate any motor vehicle on the highways without having in his possession at all times when operating such motor vehicle, a valid operator's or chauffeur's license, as required by the laws of the state, unless such person is specifically exempted from such laws by the provisions thereof. No person charged with violating this section shall be convicted if he produces in court an operator's or chauffeur's license issued to him and valid at the time of his arrest.
      2.   No person shall operate a motor vehicle in any manner in violation of any restriction that may be imposed in a restricted license issued to him with respect to the type of, or special mechanical control devices required on, a motor vehicle, or any other restriction applicable to the licensee as the state may determine.    B.   Operation On Invalid License Prohibited: No person shall operate a motor vehicle when his privilege to do so is cancelled, suspended, revoked or denied. Any person convicted of violating this subsection shall be punished by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. Each act of driving on the streets or highways as prohibited by this subsection shall constitute a separate offense. (1985 Code § 15-216)
   C.   State Vehicle License Required: It is unlawful to operate a vehicle of any kind upon a street of the city without a state vehicle license as may be required by law or to fail to display the state vehicle license as may be required by law. (1985 Code § 15-217)
   D.   Permitting Unauthorized Person To Drive: No person shall authorize or knowingly permit any vehicle owned by him or under his control to be driven upon any highway by any person who is not authorized under the provisions of the laws of the state to operate such vehicle. (1985 Code § 15-218)
