(a) No individual shall engage in the business of plumbing in the City unless licensed as a plumber under the provisions of this chapter.
(b) No individual, firm, partnership, or corporation shall engage in the business of installing, repairing or altering plumbing unless the plumbing work performed in the course of such business is under the direct supervision of a licensed plumber.
(c) Upon proper application and payment, an individual who provides a copy of his or her current Ohio Plumbing License and proof of insurance may hold a plumbing license for work done in the City of Celina and surrounding areas of Mercer County, per an agreement concerning the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer and water distribution systems.
(d) All plumbing licenses shall expire on December 31 of the year in which issued, but may be renewed upon payment of a fifty dollars ($50.00) fee, a copy of their current Ohio Plumbing License and proof of insurance.
(e) The Director of Public Service and Safety or his or her designee may revoke a license if obtained through nondisclosure, misrepresentation of a material fact or violation of any provision of this chapter. Before a license may be revoked, the licensee shall have notice in writing, enumerating the charges against him or her, and be entitled to a hearing before the Director or his or her designee to present testimony, oral, or written and shall have the right to due process. A person whose license has been revoked shall not be permitted to apply within one year from date of revocation.
(f) No person who has obtained a plumber’s license shall allow his or her name to be used by another person either for the purpose of obtaining permits, or for doing business or work under the license. Every person licensed shall notify the Director of Public Service and Safety or his or her designee of the address of his or her place of business, if any and the name under which such business is carried on and shall give immediate notice to the Director or his or her designee of any change in either.
