(a) The Commission shall consist of five (5) members. In addition, one member of Council and the Public Works Director shall act as advisory members of the Commission.
(b) The Mayor, subject to the approval of the City Council, shall appoint all members of the Commission.
(c) The Chairperson of the Commission shall preside over all meetings of the Commission. The Vice-Chairperson shall assume the duties of the Chairperson in their absence.
(d) Appointments to the Commission shall be for three (3) year terms, provided that the term for one (1) of the members appointed to the first Commission shall be for one (1) year and one (1) of the members appointed to the first Commission shall be for two (2) years. If a vacancy occurs during the term of any member, their successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of said term.
(e) Any Commission member who misses three (3) consecutive meetings or more than fifty percent (50%) of the regular meetings on an annual basis may be removed from the Tree Commission.
(f) The City of Celina will provide financing for Tree Commissioners to attend educational programs. Tree Commission members will be encouraged to attend educational programs on urban forestry.
