Except as hereinafter specified, the lawful use of a building or premises existing at the time of the effective date of this Zoning Ordinance which would render the use nonconforming, may be continued although such use, building, or structure does not conform with the provisions of this Chapter for the district in which it is located. It is not the intention herein to classify as nonconforming, a use or building allowed in a district as a conditional use under the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance.
