1-2.08 Short Tunnels:
   In some instances, trees, fire hydrants, sidewalks and other obstructions may be encountered, the proximity of which may be a hindrance to opencut excavation. In such cases, the Contractor shall excavate by means of short tunnels in order to protect such obstructions against damage.
