(A) Unlawful. It shall be unlawful to discharge any firearm which propels a projectile, or multiple projectiles, of any size by means of an explosion within such weapon created by the use of gunpowder, or any other explosive material.

(B) Defense. It shall be an affirmative defense for anyone charged with violation of this section, if such person acted in self defense, or defense of another, or to protect his or her livestock in accordance with the laws of the state.
