All persons and land owners are prohibited from causing or allowing the real estate encumbered by an easement granted by the City to the provider of a utility service to be obstructed by anything that interferes with the providing of that utility service, including, but not limited to, the existence of or planting of trees or shrubs, the erection of any structure, the accumulation of brush or rubbish or the placing of any object on a utility easement that interferes with the use and maintenance of the utility easement.
A violation of this chapter is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or a term in jail not to exceed thirty (30) days for each day that a person violates the prohibition set forth above. In addition, a violation of this chapter shall constitute a municipal infraction pursuant to Chapter 3 of this Code of Ordinances.
