Street names shall be sufficiently different in sound and in spelling from other street names in the city so as not to cause confusion. A street which exists or is planned as a continuation of an existing street shall bear the same name. Street names shall be proposed by the subdivider as per Section 16.12.030 of this code, but shall be approved by the city council as part of the final plat.
