A. All potbellied pigs kept, harbored or maintained in the city must be licensed and registered if over four months of age. Licenses shall be issued by the city or its designated agents upon payment of license fees as prescribed in Section 6.12.080 of this title. All licenses will be stamped with a month and year expiration date and shall expire on the last day of the month. Upon expiration, a penalty of one and one-half percent, not less than fifty cents, per month will be assessed. The owner shall state at the time application is made for such license, his name and address, his telephone number, the name, color and sex of each potbellied pig owned or kept by him.
B. If the license is not obtained by the owner prior to the last day of the month in the year it expires, or within thirty days of the date of first possession of any potbellied pig, or of its becoming four months old, or within thirty days from the arrival of the potbellied pig in the city, the license payment shall be deemed delinquent and a penalty as provided in the fee schedule set forth in Section 6.12.080 of this title shall be paid.
C. Each potbellied pig licensed under the terms of this chapter shall receive, at the time of licensing, a tag on which shall be inscribed the name of the city, the number of license and the date on which it expires. The tag shall be attached to a collar, harness or other device, which shall be worn by the potbellied pig at all times except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
