A. The animal control officer may apprehend and impound any dog or cat found without a current valid license tag.
B. Any dog or cat that bites any person shall be quarantined and impounded or, at the request of and at the expense of the owner, placed in a veterinary hospital for a period of not less than ten days. The owner of any dog or cat that has bitten a person may voluntarily deliver the dog or cat. If the dog or cat is impounded for observation as a result of a dog or cat bite incident, the fee schedule shall determine the charges to be made. A dog or cat properly licensed and vaccinated pursuant to these regulations that bites any person, may be confined and quarantined at the home of the owner or wherever the dog or cat is harbored and maintained with the consent of and in a manner prescribed by the animal control officer.
