At the first meeting of the board, the board shall elect its own officers. For this first meeting of the board, the chairperson of the repealed parks and recreation board, or the vice-chair if the chairperson is not available, will run the meeting. Thereafter, the board shall elect its officers at the first meeting following the first of June each year. The community services director, or his/her duly authorized representative, shall act as secretary of the board but shall not be allowed to vote. No officer elected by the board shall serve in the same capacity for more than two consecutive one-year terms.
