A. Authority. The purchasing officer may sell or dispose of personal property in any manner permitted or consistent with state law and the city charter, including but not limited to, private sales, donations to other entities providing a public benefit, or sale by public auction.
B. Property with No Salvage Value. Personal property with no salvage value, as determined by the purchasing officer, shall be disposed of in a manner that salvages recyclable components, if practical.
C. Records. The purchasing officer shall provide regular reports to the city manager, which indicate the personal property disposed of, the method of disposal, and the amounts recovered from its disposal; and shall maintain records for public inspection relative to the disposal of personal property for a period of time, in compliance with state law and the city's records retention schedule.
D. Proceeds of Sale. Proceeds from the sale of personal property shall be deposited into the appropriate city fund, as designated by the finance director.
