Pursuant to Cal. Health and Safety Code, § 6489, compensation for Board of Directors attendance at meetings of the Board or for service rendered by request of the Board is hereby established as follows.
(A) Board meetings. Each member of the Board shall receive $150 for each day’s attendance at meetings of the Board, except the President shall receive $200 for such attendance.
(B) Assigned PBCSD meetings. Each member of the Board assigned to attend a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Pebble Beach Community Services District or the Reclamation Management Committee shall receive $150 for each such meeting attended.
(C) Committee meetings. Each member of the Board assigned to attend a meeting of a District standing committee or the meeting of an ad hoc committee, as appointed by the President and approved by the Board, shall receive $50 for each such committee meeting.
(D) State executive meetings. Each member of the Board who serves on the Board of Directors or the Executive Committee of a state organization of which the District is a member shall receive $50 for attendance at any meeting or set of such meetings (i.e., whether such meetings are conducted in one day or more), and shall be reimbursed in full for his or her reasonable expenses incurred in attending these meetings, except for the expenses of his or her spouse.
(E) Conferences and the like. Each member of the Board assigned by the Board to attend conferences, seminars, forums or meetings as representatives of the Board of Directors shall receive $50 for a day’s service for each day of any such meeting and shall be reimbursed in full for his or her reasonable expenses incurred in attending these meetings, except for the expenses of others accompanying the member. Board members may attend other conferences, seminars, forums and meetings related to their duties as members of the Board of Directors, for which they shall not be compensated; however, if authorized in advance by the Board of Directors, they shall be reimbursed in full for their reasonable expenses incurred in attending these meetings, except for the expenses of others accompanying the member.
(F) Maximum monthly compensation. Under no circumstances shall a Board member’s cumulative compensation for meetings attended exceed $600 in any calendar month, or such other limitation that may subsequently be imposed by amendment to Cal. Health and Safety Code, § 6489.
(G) Transportation expenses for travel outside the local area. If a member of the Board uses air transportation, the travel expense shall be the actual cost of coach or similar class plus incidental expenses connected with traveling to the meeting or conference site. If a member of the Board travels by privately owned vehicle, the member shall be paid the Internal Revenue Service approved rate per mile.
